We celebrate

30 years LASTRO

It all started in 1993 when Hubert Leonhard and his wife Petra Leonhard followed their visions and instincts. Already coming from the heavy lift industry, they dared to go into business for themselves together and step by step built up a strong and successful company. As visionaries, they tackled previously unimaginable projects.

The first ship extension in the floating dock at Lloydwerft Bremerhaven, the moving of a completely pre-assembled roughing stand for SMS at Salzgitter AG, the rebuilding of the hot wide strip rolling line at Voestalpine Stahl in Linz: These were novelties at the time that still fill the two company founders with great pride today: "It certainly cost us some sleepless nights, but we were always sure of the feasibility," says Hubert Leonhard: "That's the beauty of our work: You can calculate a lot. We always talk about facts."

This has proven itself to this day and has been demonstrated in an impressive manner. Through innovative and visionary concepts and successful work implementations, LASTRO has become a reliable and long-standing experienced partner of the industry. The constant growth is witness to the success and keeps LASTRO in the focus of the European industry as the sought-after partner for special solutions for assembly, lifting and transport work.

For more than half of the company's history, daughter Katja and husband Christian Marmann have now helped shape the family business. From the beginning, the foundation for a strong family business was laid by developing and living the company's values: Bring top performance, always strengthen the team, respect the interests and needs of each individual, exemplify fairness and always be sincere, demand and promote loyalty to and with your employees, customers and partners.

The family business has been steered by two generations who, in the closest cooperation, have everyone's best interests in mind. In their almost 20 years together in the business, they benefited from a constant constructive exchange. And even when their opinions differed, they were always able to bring them down to a common denominator at the end of the day, thus generating added value for LASTRO. "You can't imagine a better trainer than my father. He always let me gain my experience on my own, even if it sometimes cost an apprenticeship. Whenever I needed him, he was by my side. Even today, he supports us with his valued opinion and enormous expertise," says daughter Katja.

Her mother was also important for the company's development - not only as a stable rock. "She taught us never to lose our humanity, to keep our nerve, to always listen to our gut and to take care of our own families as well as those of our employees," says Katja Marmann and adds: "At this point, a huge thank you to my mother, without whom we would never have been able to manage the reconciliation of job and family. The fact that our children can stay with my mother for part of the time means that it is only possible for me and my husband to be present at all in the company, on construction sites or with customers with the necessary presence."

Ultimately, the principles continue to be firmly anchored in the company, even in the second generation and after 30 years. Katja Marmann: "We live our values and always remind ourselves and our employees to never lose sight of them." That's why LASTRO is known for being loyal and trustworthy to employees, customers and partners. The founders and successors have managed to initiate a successful company handover together for the long term, creating a very pleasant working atmosphere, respecting everyone's needs and offering support at all times. They know: This is the only way to successfully shape the future in order to continue to grow.

The company LASTRO is the result of a great and constant performance of each individual in the team. "In the end, we are only successful together as a team! At this point, we would like to thank the entire team, customers, suppliers and families for their loyalty, support and for giving us the opportunity to grow together the way we have," says Katja Marmann, looking to the future with confidence:

"Cheers to the next 30 years of LASTRO!"
